Mike Monroe;

"Not to get anymore bummed out than everyone already is ? I won't say anything other than our sincere condolences to everyone who's lost anyone near and dear in The Asian disaster...

"We're just glad we're still here. Actually better than ever! You just might not know it from looking at this web site...yet.

"Anyways...oh yeh, yeh ? as far as Stevie Klasson [guitar] is concerned, we were only kidding. The rumours were actually true: CONNY BLOOM IS IN FACT OUR NEW GUITAR PLAYER! (It was a long joke, but it worked!). (Drumfill!!!)

"While you may have been on vacation, we?ve been working overtime. We've just about finished the fresh new Hanoi Rocks album entitled 'Another Hostile Takeover' and I think it's a bit of a masterpiece. But then again what else would ya expect? (he says humbly) Unfortunately, it won't be released until next April due to 'simultaneous release' clauses in our record deals around the world.... I would think there'd be a single or an EP out way before then, though.

"So what next? Well, hey, at least I've broken the silence here, so hopefully you guys won't have to be guessing, wondering or assuming so much anymore.

"I dunno about you, but... We're gonna start rehearsing and getting ready to rock like fuck on the road in 2005! That's what?s next!

"Be sure not to miss Hanoi Rocks live when we're in your part of the world . And as soon as you can, check out the new record ? it's really choice!"

Hmmmm, after hearing Steve and Diamond Dogs, I was REALLY looking forward to the new Hanoi, as it seemed a perfect fit. Now, I just don't know. I like Connie and all, but this is a double sting in a way. This means that SilverGinger is over, and Ginger will be sticking with Wild 182 after all, and it also means that a perfect fit of a guitarist that would have ushered in some more great RnR influence won't happen. Instead, I can only expect Hanoi to start doing more...umm...funk. Oh well, excitement has now been replaced by the old hesitation I had when they first reformed. Now I am back to being weary of them. Damn.

Is he going to get together with Steve Van Zant and do another "Sun City" type of thing?

<font size="4" face="Arial">Well Ginger is set to release his collection of singles on a cd. Plus there was his post looking for a new lead singer for a new project he had in mind. If SilverGinger 5 took off and was huge would there ever have been the return of the Wildhearts? Does even Ginger know what the hell he is doing anymore? It seem like the man can never make up his mind what route he is going. You think he could have some pull with Nikki to get back to the States and open for Motely which would be a lot better opening slot for the Wildhearts than opening for the Darkness on there US tour. Has Gearhead and Sanctuary offically given up on the WIldhearts? Let alone what about Gut? Was it Gut that decided to pull out on the Wildhearts DVD or did Ginger do it and is just playing the fallen angel?

And i really wasn't all that impressed with last Hanoi Rock CD as it was. Has an 80's glam band actually come back with anything good? God knows that the new Faster Pussycat stuff was pretty lame.

I had hoped that The Wildhearts would NOT have gotten back together, as it ruined everything that band was about originally, IMO. SilverGinger was a great follow-up and Ginger should have given it a better chance than he did.

Did you get the actual Hanoi release Al? For some reason I really didn't like the version I downloaded, but when I bought the actual US release, it struck a chord with me and I really liked it alot. Now that could have been all of the fancy packaging and stuff tickling my diddle, but I don't think so. I know they remixed it for US consumption, and I think the remix worked in its favor.

Ginger is a lost cause anymore, and has been for a few years now. He has bought into his own hype and believes he is more important than he really is in the music world, or so that is how he comes across to me. He needs to give up on his political side, and on his "meaningful" side, and get back to the good ol' RnR Ginger of the late 80's-early 90's.

I think the Silver Ginger 5 album is the best thing he did since Earth versus. Not been too impressed with the Wildhearts albums since.

I for one am very glad the Wildhearts got back together, since I finally got to see them perform live, and I'd never have gotten that chance otherwise, obviously. They were fantastic live, and well worth the decade's wait.
I just wish Ginger didn't take EVERYTHING so seriously. Every good thing is the beginning of world domination and every setback is the end of the world. It gets a little old.
